About this deal

A further study 35 introduced practical life exercises into conventional kindergarten classes, while control kindergarten classes were not given these materials. 15 min were set aside in the experimental schools’ timetable for using the practical life materials, and they were also available during free choice periods. This time the outcome measure at pre-test and post-test was not fine motor skill but attention. There were benefits to attention of being in the experimental group, but only for girls—boys showed no such benefits. The differential gender impact of the practical life materials on the development of attention is puzzling. Girls did not appear to engage with the materials more than boys during the time that was set aside for using them, but no measure was taken of whether girls chose them more frequently than boys during the free choice periods. Similarly, there were no measurements of the time that children in both the experimental and control groups spent engaged in other activities that might have enhanced fine motor control. Nor is it clear whether it was the fine motor practice directly or rather the opportunity to select interesting activities (the teachers in the experimental schools commented on how interesting the children found the practical life activities) that was responsible for the benefits to attention that were recorded for girls.

Some breeds, especially hotblooded ones such as the Thoroughbred, Arabian, and Akhal Teke, show stress much more than other breeds but that doesn’t mean to say other horses don’t, they just don’t outwardly show it as much. Magnagard pre-performance paste is another product you can get for your horse. It is perfect for giving your horse before any stressful activity like trailering or showing. The MagnaGard paste has its origins from a natural edible clay beginning. It has been used for decades by the montmorillonite family to promote better gut health for horses and other animals. Naturally, this edible clay contains many essential minerals like magnesium and calcium.

Mane ’n Tail Detangler – Even if you never show your horse you’ll need to detangle his tail from time to time (and possibly his mane too) which is always a challenging chore! I’ve found that if I run a little bit of detangler through my horse’s tails every few days it stops them from getting matted up and makes combing them easy, even if they’re coated in mud. I don’t know if I should admit to this or not but it also works wonders on my hair. A study was conducted by six veterinaries at the Department of Veterinary Biosciences, college of veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University. The goal of the study was to ascertain the effect of magnesium uptake. The veterinaries put the magnesium intake of a typical horse at thirteen milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day. It was discovered that horses that are growing, lactating, or in work required more magnesium uptake each day. This is because a lot of magnesium is usually lost while sweating. Andrews, R. et al. You might not realize it but you’re always giving your horse subtle clues to how your feeling and while you might not think that’ll make a difference to how your horse feels it can, in reality, have a bigger impact than you realize. In the wild, horses are constantly observing each other and reading each other’s body language, this helps to alert them to impending danger but it can also help them to know how to approach a horse and what sort of mood they’re in. While your horse clearly isn’t living in the wild his instincts don’t realize that which is why you need to be calm around him, if you’re not then your horse will think that danger is just around the corner so will, understandably, be more anxious.Gut Health Original Peak Performance Top pellets are as effective as the name speaks, it have been specially formulated to effect gastrointestinal change positively. You don’t have to adhere to a strict routine where you’ve timed everything to the second but try and keep to a regular routine as much as possible. Horses prefer to have an idea of what’s going to happen and when, that way they can relax more and don’t need to be constantly worrying and wondering when you’re going to feed them. Make changes slowly Horses want to please us (whether its because they know we keep them safe or because they’re happy if we are) but if they don’t understand what we’re asking them or if we’re giving them mixed messages then they’ll get confused and this is likely to lead to anxiety.
